1. Summary

Dots & Boxes is an offline single- and multi-player board game. It is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app makes no network requests for normal gameplay.

2. What information the app stores

The app saves the following information only on your device, using Android's standard app storage. It is never transmitted off your device and is not accessible to us:

Clear everything at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Dots & Boxes → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.

3. What the app does NOT collect

No personal identifiers (name, email, phone, device IDs, advertising IDs).
No location data.
No contacts, calendar, photos, files, or media access.
No microphone or camera access.
No analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.).
No advertising — no ad networks are bundled.
No third-party servers — the app does not communicate with our servers or any third-party server during normal use.
No in-app purchases or subscriptions.

4. Permissions

The Android manifest declares the following permission, which is normal and granted automatically by Android (the user is not prompted):

android.permission.VIBRATE — provides short haptic feedback when you draw a line or claim a box. Disable at any time in Settings → Haptic Feedback inside the app.

No other permissions are requested.

5. Children's privacy

The app is suitable for all ages (ESRB Everyone / PEGI 3). Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone — including children — the app complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Designed for Families data-handling requirements.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose any data — because there is no data to share. The app never transmits anything off your device during normal use.

7. Your rights

Because no personal data is processed, you already have full control: clearing app storage or uninstalling the app removes everything. Rights granted under GDPR, UK-GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc. are automatically satisfied because no personal data is collected.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes (e.g. introducing online multiplayer that requires an account), notify you inside the app before those changes take effect.
